A:The weather report says a typhoon is expected to make landfall in Taiwan.

B:That’s right. I’m afraid there could be flooding so I’m inspecting the area around the dormitory.

A:Can I help you? What should I look out for?

B:Of course you can. We need to check the following:

•Move important stuff and printed documents to higher ground.

•Move vehicles and scooters to a safe place.

•Make sure drainage pipes and rain gutiers on the roof are not blocked.

•Make sure there are no cracks in the roof and wall cladding.

•Remove fallen leaves and litier from the drainage channel.

•Prepare sandbags or install floodgates.
